Collector’s House

At the edge of Denver’s City Park, the Collector’s House is a contemporary element of a traditional neighborhood.  To reflect the language of the adjacent homes, the facade is built around a centered entry door and a “four-square” style form.  The interior spaces are designed as a filter that provides the owners with entertaining spaces disconnected from the more private spaces within the home.  As you walk into the house your view is drawn to niches that frame the owner’s eccentric collection. The transition from open entertaining spaces to more private living spaces occurs gradually as you walk further towards the back of the house. The living spaces occur primarily on the upper levels while the lowest level of the house functions as a storage space and workshop for restoring unique vintage cars.
